ts250 - reparing turn signal, relocating brake light
I think I hit one of my new turn signals while getting on the bike. However it happend, one turn signal was hanging off the bike. It wasn't working either. What can you expect from some cheapo turn signals off ebay.
Well it turns out that a wire had become disconnected further up the chain that carried voltage for this turn signal. I reconnected it and the turn signal worked fine again. With that out of the way, it was time to figure out how to repair it.
The led lense body screws into the end of the bolt. It is an odd arrangement. The rubber is formed directly around the end of the bolt. The led lense body bolt and broken in half. After a couple minutes with a pick I was able to get the broken part out of the end of the larger bolt. There is not enough threaded part left on the LED lense body to try to reattach it so instead I applied a very generous amount of JB Weld and let it cure over night. It seems sturdy enough. We will see how it holds up to another 150 mile trip.
