sonett - re-cored radiator with 3 row core, new water pump

The right headlight wire recently came loose and wound around the fan. This caused the fan to warp which caused it to contact the radiator. I already repaired the wire. Now it was time to repair the radiator.

I took it to a shop for an estimate. The Sonett had always run hot and now I know why. The shop removed the core and found it mostly blocked. I had them install a 3 row core in place of the original 2 row core

I also replaced the water pump while I had the radiator out. I figured, why not.

The result of both of these modifications is that the coolant cools down much faster, but on average the coolant is just as hot as it had been before. The temperature is typically just shy of red-line. Sometimes though it falls pretty quickly back down only to creep back up.

The radiator and water pump are probably good so perhaps the cooling fan is not pulling much air or there is some other restriction still in the system. It is also possible there is still an air bubble in the system but I have bled the bubbles a couple of times so this is unlikely.
