Casey, Alan, and Brian made the trek out to Baltimore to visit me and to check out a pretty amazing concert. Let me start by saying that having my hometown friends out in Baltimore was amazing and weird at the same time. It was weird because I have no frame of reference for my home town friends in baltimore. Previously if I went to DC I would not think of my hometown friends b/c I had never been to DC with them. Hopefully you get the idea. That said it was a blast having them out here. As typical is typical with these guys we kept planning to a minimum, but things always seem to turn out best that way. After picking them up at the airport we drove back to the house and showed them around here. I then proceeded to lose to Casey in Soul Calibur multiple times. The day when we switched to Micro Machines. I think after a couple of rounds of that game Brian was about to walk back to Illinois. We then tried Fight Night and that was the only game we played for the rest of the long weeked. Virgin Fest was on Saturday. It was pretty sweet with all sorts of bands in attendance. We took time to check out Incubus, Danny Tenaglia, Ben Harper (from a great distance), LCD Soundsystem, Sasha and John Digweed, Beastie Boys, and Modest Mouse. All good shows. The next day we hit up DC to see the sights. We parked near the mall (the grassy area by the monuments, not a shopping complex) and did lots of walking. We started at the Smithsonian museum of natural history where we saw some pretty rediculous precious jems. Next we were on to the air and space museum, the "old" art museum, and finally the museum of modern art. Once the museums closed we saw all the monuments. My favorite of these activities in DC was that it was all free. Cant beat that bang for your buck, which technical would either be infinite or impossible to evaluate, depending on your count $0. Anyways, that nice Ms Cleo and her tarot cards helped keep us entertained. Very entertained. I had hoped that we would go to the Beach the following day but Ms Cleo made sure we were far too tired and groggy for that. Ok so instead we took a tour of my new hometown, Baltimore. I always have mixed feelings about B’more. Regardless, its fun in small doses. Oh yeah and we saw Bourne Ultimatum. I have a hard time anybody could be as hard ass as Jason Bourne. Then again, if Alan exists then his polar opposite must also exist. The real Jason Bourne must therefore be out there somewhere :) Everyone took plenty of photos. Check them out but remember, if we look stupid its because Ms Cleo told us to. Jonathan and Nikki’s photos Casey’s pics Brians photos (really Davids photos seeing as how it was his camera) |
